Message from the Head of Primary School

It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the Primary School at the Berlin British School

We are a diverse international school, where children from more than 70 nationalities learn and grow together in an inclusive environment.

At the Primary School, we follow the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP), a globally recognised, inquiry-based curriculum that supports children’s academic, social, and emotional development. We offer both bilingual and monolingual pathways, delivered by a team of dedicated, specialist teachers. Our programme is aligned with the Berliner Rahmenlehrplan and holds full Ersatzschule and Ergänzungsschule status. Our extracurricular programme offers a wide range of activities, from chess and coding to football and more.

The Primary School at BBS is a place where curiosity is celebrated, questions are encouraged, and learning is enjoyable. We aim to cultivate lifelong learners who are internationally minded, empathetic, and confident in their ability to contribute meaningfully to the world around them.
