Jeans for Genes

Jeans for Genes

The Jeans for Genes day encourages children and teachers to help support chidlren with genetic disorders such as muscular dystrophy, cystic fibrosis, and sickle cell anemia by donating 1-2 euros to wear jeans to school on this day. The fundraising campaign is there to raise awareness and support the work of the scientists at Children's Medical Research Institute.

This year we have managed to raise a grand total of 249,50 Euro. Thank you to all of you and your pupils for contributing so generously to this charity.

"Jeans for genes is a charity event for people who lack or have unusual genes. People wear jeans because it's fun and pay 1-2 euros to charity and if not they wear school uniform as normal. It is a very fun activity held during the second week of September .

People who have genetic illnesses often get bullied, commented or gossiped about, so I can imagine it makes them happy that they have so many other people who care about them and are willing to pay 1-2 euros to help them.

Genetic illnesses can have an emotional and physical impact on a person, which is why there are organisations all over the world raising money and awareness about different kind of disorders, so that these people can live easier and happier lives.

Everyone is special in their own way, keep on pushing through and the world will soon see the real you!"
