BBS welcomed our new Grade 1 students and their parents on Monday 30th August for the start of the new school year. The children were very excited to start the first chapter of their school life and meet all their classmates and teachers. Each child brought in their "Schultüte", which is a paper cone filled with treats and school supplies to traditionally sweeten the first day of school.
Mrs Phelan, the Head of Primary School read the story Be Big! Beatrice’s First Day of First Grade by Katie Kizer to the children and Grade 2 sung "Mein Weg zur Schule ist nicht schwer" accompanied by Mr Tietjen on the guitar. Despite the masks, the photos of the special occasion display the children's happy faces and their obvious enthusiasm to be starting school.
