Vasity Football Girls

The varsity girls toughed out snowy conditions, arctic winds and freezing temperatures at GISST this weekend. The girls showed excellent teamwork and put in some solid performances to finish 7th after 3 wins and 3 losses - although with a bit of luck they could have finished higher. The three teams the girls lost to finished 1st, 2nd and 4th in the tournament to highlight the quality they faced in their matches. The girls competed well throughout, defended determinedly and played some really good football.

The girls were rewarded for their positivity and sportsmanship with the fair play trophy - Mr Barclay and Mr Nicholson helping to clear snow from the field in between games and at the end of the day probably helped as well!

Finally, I would like to pass on my thanks and admiration to two GISST veterans who will be leaving us this year. Both girls have represented the school with distinction and they have been a pleasure to coach over the years. They have reached the final of GISST in the past as well as winning a cup in an international tournament in Verona. I’m sure everything at BBS joins me and saying a big well done to them both.
