Nationalgalerie
The Art, Design, and History students in Grade 9 went on a trip to the Nationalgalerie to explore an exhibition of art from 1905 to 1945. The exhibition was entitled the Art of Society and reflects important historical events which were closely associated with Berlin. Art and design from this period has a strong focus on political and social processes. Students sketched and photographed their favorite Art and Design pieces during the trip. The Nationalgalerie website describes the collection as one of the world's most important collections of twentieth-century art. The collection of works from 1905 to 1945 shows the development of art in this period with works in styles like Expressionism, Dada, Surrealism, New Objectivity, and other national and international trends. The collection includes paintings, sculptures, and graphic works by hundreds of artists.
