Maths challenge at Secondary School

On Thursday 3rd February a group of students from Grades 8, 9 and 10 took part in the online UK Mathematics Trust Intermediate Maths Challenge. The challenge is completed each year by students from across the globe and is designed to include thought provoking problems.  

Starting bright and early at the beginning of the day, students had one hour to complete as many of the twenty-five questions as possible. Using skills learned in lessons in a completely new context, students tackled the questions head-on and enjoyed solving some uniquely engaging tasks.The room was filled with a silent buzz of focus and lateral thinking. A huge congratulations for their effort to all those that took part in the first Math Challenges. Watch this space for future challenges!
