Junior Pencak Silat World Championship
The Berlin British School congratulates Emma on her achievement at the 5th Junior Pencak Silat World Championship in Abu Dhabi, where over 1,000 athletes from 40 countries competed. Pencak Silat, a traditional Indonesian martial art, focuses on self-defense techniques, fluid movements, and strategy while honoring its cultural heritage. Before the championship, Emma and her team met with the Indonesian ambassador in Berlin, an opportunity to recognize their efforts and dedication. Her preparation included intensive daily training, 10 km runs, hill sprints, and a disciplined diet as part of her commitment to peak performance. Competing in the Pre-Junior Female (51-54 kg) category, Emma secured a victory in the semi-final after three rounds against a strong competitor from Singapore. In the final, she demonstrated resilience and skill, ultimately earning a silver medal. Her performance reflects months of preparation and persistence, making her accomplishment on the international stage a notable achievement.
