Día de Muertos

Día de Muertos

On Tuesday 28th of October, Spanish Grade 9 students visited the Mexican Embassy in Berlin with their teachers Dr. Jiménez-Landi and Mr. Meyers. The embassy offered a guided tour of their “Altar de Muertos” or “Day of the Dead Altar” and students learnt about this shrine or “ofrenda”, as well as about the Mexican tradition of Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead). After the tour we had time to observe all the details, traditional objects and ornaments on the impressive altar, as well as enjoying delicious hot chocolate, sweets and Pan de Muerto - a traditional pastry made for the annual celebration of Day of the Dead -, provided by the Embassy. Thank you very much to the Mexican Embassy!
