Varsity Girls’ GISST Football

On 13-15 November, the Varsity Girls travelled to Leipzig International School for the annual GISST Football Tournament.

On Friday they played three tough matches, narrowly losing two and drawing one. Saturday’s final group game placed them 5th in their pool. The team focused first on understanding and using the offside rule effectively, then on moving the ball into space, passing forward through the defence, and stepping onto passes.

Throughout the tournament the players showed great energy, growing confidence, and real improvement, strengthening individual weaknesses and developing as a team. In their final matches they truly came together, playing with excellent focus, intensity, and teamwork. Had they started at that level, they would certainly have finished in the top half.

Take this with you wherever you go young ladies and you will only move upwards!

Well done to everyone and thank you for representing BBS so well in the way you showed spirit, positiveness, team spirit and fight. You all played with a positive and sporting manner too, thus winning the Fair Play Award.
