GISST Varsity Girls Football Tournament

GISST Varsity Girls Football Tournament

Adam Barclay, Grades 6-8 Coordinator

On Saturday 8th October the Varsity Girls football team competed in a tournament at BBS against other international schools. The day was a success and acted as great preparation for the upcoming GISST tournament as well as the football tournament in Verona at the start of November. The girls have been working on their aggression in winning the ball back and then composure once in possession to keep the ball. They worked well and in the first game comfortably won by pressing high up the field to force their opponents into mistakes. The second game was also very competitive but was ultimately settled by the talents of the number 10 of BerIS, who was a class above everyone else at the tournament. That being said, we competed throughout and forced their goalkeeper into many saves. Had we taken our chances, the result may very well have been different.
