Varsity Boys Basketball Tournament

The varsity boys travelled to St Georges school in Duisburg for the division one GISST basketball tournament.

Throughout the whole tournament they played exceptionally well and were an absolute joy to watch. The standard of their play was exceptional. They won every game they played and obviously won the tournament after a nail biting final when they came from behind to win by two points against BBIS. Their results are set out in the table below.

Not only did they win the tournament, but they also won the 'Fair Play' award. They were unanimous winners of the award, which means every other team coach there voted for them and the players from every other team voted for them. This was a reflection on how they conducted themselves throughout. They never questioned a referee’s decision, never deliberately fouled an opponent, were never arrogant or ‘show boated’ at any time. They just played very honest basketball and played it better than any other team there.
