U14 Girls Football

The U14 girls enjoyed a successful weekend in Leipzig where they reached the final before narrowly missing out on victory. Second place is a huge achievement. To put this into context, last year the girls lost 8-0 to St George’s. This year they beat them 1-0 in the semi final.

The girls were excellent defensively; pressing their opponents high up the field and forcing turnovers in possession. On the ball they were assured and executed the game plan that we have worked on this year. We played the ball into space to our wingers or our striker and we scored some excellent team goals.

Most importantly, the girls were resilient and worked hard as a team. They were positive and encouraging to one another. They were a credit to the school both in terms of sporting performance and team spirit.
