Table Tennis GISST

BBS took part in the first Varsity only GISST Table Tennis tournament at the Franconian International School in Erlangen. We took two teams to the tournament and each team showed plenty of effort and team work, especially in the doubles. 

This was the first GISST event for three of our students and the first Varsity event for everyone.

The Varsity girls took a brilliant step forward as some of the youngest Varsity participants, gaining valuable experience for next year! They came 3rd in their overall tournament, having won their final U14 event last year! Well done indeed. Well done young ladies and we can’t wait until next year!

The Varsity boys were also some of the youngest Varsity participants and, as with the girls, gained valuable experience for next year!

Whilst the other four boys did finish 8th, they were up against some very experienced players. One being the champion, the best player in the whole of Georgia! The boys improved as the tournament went on, chatted well with each other to help with their improvement and never gave up. Well done!

It was, yet again, a successful two days and our students were a great credit to the school.

I thank all the players for making it such positive tournament, the girls for working hard to win 3rd place and the boys showing plenty of positivity, improvement and motivation.

A massive thank you from everyone to Mr. Holden, for all your time and efforts coaching the players leading up to the event and Mr. Murphy for supporting and encouraging the players/students during the event.
