GISST Girls' Basketball Tournament

We are happy that a girls' basketball tournament was held in BerIS after two years without an event due to the pandemic. This tournament gave the girls team a great opportunity to compete hard. I am extremely proud of our team, who were incredible from the start and never lost their spirit. Right from the very first tick of the clock, they battled for every point that was scored in the game. There were some first-time basketball players who were nervous and not sure what to expect. However, their attitude and behaviour were commendable, which led us to win the sportsmanship award as well.

It was noted that when a few players were out with injuries, they still showed the rest of the team that they were supporting them by cheering and shouting encouragement. This was a huge sign of support and gave more confidence and energy to the team. It is clear that these girls took away a lot from the experience, even after losing, they said the tournament was incredible and they cannot wait to compete again next year.
