Early Years and Primary School Clubs
Lunch Club
Visit our Library during Lunch time!
Students are able to visit the Primary School Library from 12:50 to 13:20 on Tuesdays, Wednesday and Thursdays. This is on a 'drop in' basis so there is no need for students to sign up for this.
After School Clubs
Our extracurricular activities (After School Clubs) are mainly offered for recreational purposes. However, they also offer opportunities for growth, enrichment and skill development. These activities provide a structured and supportive environment where students might explore their interests, make new friends, and acquire valuable life skills.
These clubs are mainly for students in Grades 1-5, however, we also offer clubs for K2 and K3 children. Our After School Clubs are run by BBS teachers (no fees) and external coaches (fees) and take place in the afternoon from 15:30-16:30 (times may vary - see ASC Overview below). Because spaces are limited, registration for the clubs takes place on a termly basis rather than on a yearly basis, so that every student has the opportunity to join the club of their choice. You can find all the information on how and when to register for the After School Clubs below.
Please register your child within the sign-up period (06.12. - 22.12.2023) using the ASC Form below. Carefully read the After School Club Guidelines and also see the After School Clubs Overview regarding costs and other important information. You will receive confirmation, if your child can join their chosen club/s on 03.01.2024 via email.
After School Clubs will commence on Monday 15.01.2024.
***Please note that there will be no clubs on the following days:
12.02. - 16.02.2024 - half-term holiday
08.03.2024 - public holiday
22.03.2024 - school finishes at noon (12:00pm)

Guidelines
Attendance
It is expected that once signed up for an activity, students attend the activity for the entire duration of the Spring Term (15.01.2024 - 21.03.2024) especially clubs that are run by external coaches/teachers that incl. fees. If circumstances prevent students from continuing or attending to an activity (e.g. sickness, absence etc.), we kindly ask all parents to inform the club coordinator (Ms Bettin: maria.bettin@berlinbritishschool.de). If your child does not attend a club regularly (by missing two or more consecutive sessions unexcused), they may be asked to leave so that their place can be offered to the next student on the waiting list.
Place Allocation
Please ensure to only register your child for clubs that are suitable for their corresponding year group. All students will be chosen by means of a lottery. Those not selected will be placed on a waiting list in drawn order. Please notice that some clubs are so popular that not all students can join. All previous registrations expire by the end of each term.
Fees
Our After School Clubs are run by BBS teachers (no fees) and external coaches/teachers (fees). Accounting lies exclusively with the external coach/teacher, Berlin British School is not involved. Invoices will be handed to the students or sent by email by the club coach/teacher. Please see the club overviews regarding fees and other information.
***Clubs involving fees: If your child wishes to discontinue an After School Club during the term, it is in the responsibility of the club coach/teacher whether or not he/she chooses to amend the invoice.
For pick-up please use the back door of the classroom through the Charles-Dickens School entrance.
For Film please use the main entrance area.
For Basketball, Coordination & Balance, Turkish and Football please use the side doors of the gyms.
Make ensure the teacher/coach knows that you picked up your child.
Please also ensure that your child is picked up on time at the end of a club. If your child is not picked up on time, he/she will be sent to After School Care (open until 17:00).
Snacks and Dress Code
Please pack an extra snack which your child can eat before he/she starts his/her club. All students participating in sporting activities are expected to wear appropriate, functional clothing.
