***Latest news***

We have waiting lists in most classes throughout the Kita and School for this year and already for 2023-24.  Please complete a Contact Admissions Form so that we can advise you quickly and accurately about the availability of spaces and advise you if you should apply. Click here for the Contact Admissions Enquiry form.

Grade 1 - We already have a long waiting list for the Bilingual stream of Grade 1 for the school year  starting in August 2023.  If your child fulfills the requirements for the Monolingual English stream you are welcome to apply.  More information here: Monolingual English stream.

Toddlers  -  We can only accept applications for the Toddler group if the child is a brother or sister of a student currently attending the School or Kita. Sibling applications have priority and fill the small Toddler group. To clarify - the Toddler group is home for our youngest children and they turn three years old during their year in Toddlers.

Admissions Process

The first step in our process is to give us details about the prospective student by completing the form https://www.berlinbritishschool.de/join-us/admission. These include:

  • date of birth
  • nationality
  • levels of English and German
  • the prospective length of stay at the school.

Our fees are available by clicking here: Fees.  Please contact our Admissions team before applying if you have any questions about the fee schedule, income-related fees or scholarships.

When you are ready to submit an application, please use the Application Form. Please upload your child's school reports for the last two years to any application or send them by email to us. Our Admissions Team will inform you about the availability of places and advise next steps.

We offer individual tours of the appropriate site which can be made with or without accompanying children and gives an insight into classroom life as well as the chance to talk with teachers and the Head of School. Appointments for tours can be made by contacting our Admissions team.

Visits and assessments As a next stage we offer a free, three day visit (shorter for Kindergarten admissions) to give both students and teachers the opportunity to get to know each other. It also allows the school to evaluate the student academically and observe the prospects of social adaptability to the school ethos. The visit is also a good opportunity for the student to get to know us and experience school life in a relaxed way.

Visit Feedback  After the visit we give feedback from the visit and the results of assessments made. A place in the school may then be offered. A student may start once a contract has been signed and other required documentation submitted.

Applications for admission are generally possible at any time in the academic year if places are available, but we do not admit students to Grade 10 or Grade 12. Starting during the academic year in Grades 9 and 11 may not be possible as the IGCSE and IB Diploma courses are designed for two full years of study.

Office Hours are 8 am to 4 pm. Appointments to tour or visit the school must be made in advance to ensure our availability.

Covid    To ensure the continued health of our community  all tours and visits must be arranged in advance. Visitors must ensure they abide by current German government rules regarding the wearing of masks, quarantine upon arrival and self-isolation in the case of developing Covid symptoms.
