PTA

The Berlin British School PTA  (Parent, Teachers and Friends Association) is simply a group of parents, teachers and friends who wish to make BBS a place where our children’s education is fun, modern and inspiring.

The PTA is a non-profit organisation supporting the school community. Our primary aim is to encourage a close and welcoming relationship amongst the families and teaching community. Our secondary aim is to raise money to provide additional facilities for the school to enhance our children’s time here.

Our calendar is a busy one and we organise lots of social and sporting events for you and your children to enjoy, including children’s discos, our annual cross country run, providing refreshments at sports day, school play performances and concerts and the highlight of the school year, the ‘Summerfest’, our annual summer party. We also thank our teaching staff with an appreciation dinner.

With the funds raised at these events, the PTA has assisted in funding school activities, upgrades to facilities and purchasing new equipment for the school. In the past, the BBS PTA has helped to acquire German and English language books for the library, iPads for ICT, Spectrometers for the Chemistry Department, keyboards and samba drums for the Music Department and outdoor sports and play equipment for the play areas.

Support and Membership

We welcome families to the BBS PTA. Our aim is to encourage a close relationship amongst the parents, between parents and staff and the school itself.

The PTA hold monthly meetings in the Primary School Hall, during which we discuss fundraising initiatives and plan future events. Our Head Teachers regularly attend and update us on all aspects of school life, and parents have the opportunity to ask questions. We always welcome new members and love involving as many people as possible in our events.

Membership Form

Every class has a Parent Class Representative who plays a key role in communication between the parents and the PTA. They attend the monthly meetings and are key in coordinating assistance for our events, as well as answering queries from families and providing feedback to the PTA. If you are interested in becoming a Class Representative, please let us know, it’s a great way to get to know the school community.
