Meet our Leadership

Message from the Managing Director
Welcome to the Berlin British School
It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Berlin British School website and to thank you for your interest. The Berlin British School is an international school of British Foundation based in Charlottenburg in Berlin. We offer two distinctive streams: a monolingual stream taught in English only, and a bilingual stream which is taught in both English and German. It is an IB World School that runs the PYP, IGCSE and IB Diploma programmes. We are accredited by CIS, a member of COBIS, an authorised Cambridge International Examination centre.
We specialise in providing a first-class education to children in the local community as well as to children of embassy staff and mobile parents who are in Berlin for only a few years. We cater to all age groups from 3 to 18 years of age and we currently have about 500 students. The maximum class size throughout the school is 20 students.
We were founded in 1994 and since our beginnings, we have taken pride in our inclusivity and diversity. In our classrooms we have children from more than 70 nations and many religious backgrounds. We now have almost 100 staff from 21 nations.
Being such a diverse school allows us to learn from each other and helps your child gain a better understanding of what it means to be a global citizen and internationally minded.
If you are interested in finding out more about our school, we would be happy to arrange a tour of our three sites for you. When visiting us, you will immediately notice that we want all families to feel welcome at our school and that we will listen to any and all issues you may have regarding your child and that we will respond accordingly.
We look forward to welcoming you to our school.
