Berlin British School Parent Teacher Association (PTA)

In British schools it is normal practice to have a group of volunteers who work towards the following aims:

  • To create a bridge of communication between the school and the parents.
  • To add to the sense of community that exists within the school.
  • To provide the opportunity to bring parents together.
  • To support families when they are new to the school.
  • To support the teachers during special events.
  • To raise funds to buy items that make our school even more special.

WAYS IN WHICH WE HOPE TO ACHIEVE THIS:

  • Ensuring each class has a parent representative and that these reps attend meetings with a member of the school senior management team once a term.
  • Organising various social events throughout the year.
  • Inviting new parents to the "BBS for Starters" meetings.
  • Running refreshment sales at school events.
