The first such awards the school has ever given, scholarships were introduced this year for recognition and reward for, chiefly, academic excellence and an outstanding academic record. Both students were identified as role models for their academic endeavours as well as achievements. With an ambition to become a doctor, Lara has been at the school for five years in which time she has excelled and secured outstanding grades. Coming to Berlin only in January 2011 from the middle east with very little English, Helia is a fine illustration of what can be achieved if will, determination and academic potential are combined.
The school hopes and expects that more of its own students, as well as those from outside the school, will apply for scholarships in the future and follow Helia and Lara’s example.
