BBS 8-a-side Football Tournament on Saturday 9 June

Last Saturday nearly 100 pupils met to play football on our pitch at Secondary School. BerIS brought 5 teams, we had four and IBIS (Independent Bonn International School) also entered a team.

Year 3 and 4 girls, Year 3 and 4 boys and Year 5 and 6 girls all played a friendly game against BerIS. The Year 5 and 6 boys played a tournament and had three games. For many of our students it was the first time they had played a game of football with an official referee. It was great to see them in action and they all improved tremendously from the experience.

Our Year 3/4 girls and 3/4 boys lost to BerIS. The Year 5/6 girls managed to secure a 1-1 draw against them after an exciting goal in the first 30 seconds from Mio and a series of great saves from Dana. The Year 5/6 boys beat IBIS 7-0, lost to BerIS A team 2-3, and then lost 0-2 in an exciting match against the BerIS B team.

Many thanks to all parents who came and supported our teams. Thank you also to Mr Allum and Mr Nicholson for giving up their Saturdays. Such support is greatly appreciated. Finally, thank you to Mr Kelly for working so hard to get the pitch ready, and for being there on both tournament days.
