School Lunch

Lunch at BBS is provided by a catering company, which also serves other schools throughout Berlin. At each site lunch is delivered by the catering firm, and heated up and served by dedicated lunch ladies. Together with the catering firm the school tries to offer a balanced diet of meat, fish, carbohydrates, vegetables and fruits: freshly cut vegetables and fruits are part of everyday’s menu. 

At Early Years each child gets the same lunch. It is chosen beforehand by the Head of Early Years.  At Primary School the children have a choice of the three menus, one of which is a Bio menu.  At Secondary School there is a choice of four menus, including a Bio one. Additionally, the students can buy warm and cold snacks from the school shop run by the catering company. 

The catering company concludes the lunch contract with the pupils’ parents directly.  There is an online ordering system in English so that selections from the lunch menu for the forthcoming month may be chosen. Parents are debited on a monthly basis.

Contracts can be obtained from the administrators at each school site.
