Application Process

Three day visits and assessments

Three day visits give both students and teachers the opportunity to get to know each other. It also allows the school to evaluate the student academically and observe the prospects of social adaptability to the school ethos. German language skills are not a pre-requisite to attend BBS. During the visit the school will assess prospective students from Year 1 to Year 9 in their reading skills and in the areas of English, Maths, Science, and Information and Communication Technology, based on the standards of the English National Curriculum.

In Nursery and Reception we use an informal means of assessment developed by the staff and used throughout the school year. This involves observing the children as they go about their activities and assessing their progress.

Enrolment meeting

The admissions process concludes with a meeting with parents, students (if applicable) and Head of School to analyse the trial period and assessment results. A place in the school may then be offered.
