Year 1 – Learning about different Materials in a playful way

As part of their work on “Materials”, this Tuesday Year 1 visited the Children´s Labyrinth Museum. There they playfully learned how different materials are used for different purposes. The children had the unique opportunity to build a large scale house using a crane and our little ones could also use a light box to draw their own plans.

If children actively learn “by doing“ then they can better understand the contexts, find solutions easier and recognize much quicker that these indirect ways are the best and most exciting ones.

Afterwards the acquired knowledge of this trip was used to plan, discuss and built a Dolls House.

All children had great fun during the visit and the Dolls House Project.
